So Far....

So far this class has been excellent. I know that with all that has happened in my life this last week it has not been easy keeping up with course work, but hoping that it gets better and am able to get back on track. With everything that we have done in class so far I have learned the about all the web tools that we investigated, the blogging and twitter has definitely been something new for me. I am hoping to be able to walk away with ideas for using all these tools in the classroom setting with the exception that some of the tools may not be age appropriate for preschool. In the future I am hoping to keep my blog going and using it for the purpose of parent and teacher communication, allowing parents to stay informed with what is taking place in the classroom, and providing parents and students with educational resources. Overall, this class has been great so far and I am hoping to keep learning the amounts that I have already learned in this course.

I have attached the address for the google form that we created this week. I thought it would be fun to see some of the responses.

TeacherTube Video

This video will allow parents a pretty good understanding of what happens in the classroom on a daily basis. When parents have that understanding they have the comfort of knowing that their child is learning new things at school.

Introduction

Hello to everyone,
I am Jessica Golwitzer and I am excited about having the chance to work with each and everyone of you! I am currently a Head Start preschool teacher in Council Bluffs, Iowa. I currently live in Crescent, Iowa with my cat named Pumpkin and my Siberian Husky dog named Rosie. I was raised and grew up in Crescent, Iowa. I really enjoy spending what little spare time I have I enjoy reading, and spending time with family and friends.
I am in my first year of teaching and in the fall will start my second year. I have loved absolutely every minute of the time that I have spend teaching. I attended and graduated from Buena Vista University in 2010. Which then I decided to turn around right away and get my master's degree. I will have to say that it has been a task trying to keep up with both work and school. I can't say that I have been bored this last year at all. I will be finished with my master's in October and I can't wait. This summer I am taking two courses and then I will have one course left.
